BREAKING: A major point guard prospect is making his way to Lexington

The offseason transfer window is already beginning to heat up in college basketball, and for programs like Kentucky Wildcats, early momentum can be crucial. With roster reshaping underway and coaching staffs working around the clock to identify impact talent, securing high-level visits is often the first major step toward building a competitive squad. Now, Kentucky has officially entered that phase, lining up its first notable in-person meeting with a transfer prospect who brings both pedigree and production.

According to Dushawn London of 247 Sports, the Wildcats are set to host Zoom Diallo, a point guard from the Washington Huskies, for a visit this weekend. The visit marks a significant milestone for head coach Mark Pope and his staff, as Diallo becomes the first transfer portal player they will meet face-to-face during this cycle. It is also expected to be Diallo’s first official visit since entering the portal, highlighting Kentucky’s early push to make a strong impression.

Diallo, a 6-foot-4 guard weighing 180 pounds, entered college basketball as a highly regarded prospect, ranked No. 42 nationally in the 2024 recruiting class out of Prolific Prep in California. Since then, his stock has continued to rise. He is currently viewed as the No. 24 overall player in the transfer portal and ranks among the top point guards available.

On the court, Diallo delivered an impressive sophomore campaign, averaging 15.7 points per game while shooting an efficient 48.9 percent from the field, along with 4.5 assists and 3.9 rebounds. While his three-point shooting sits at 31.5 percent, his overall scoring ability and playmaking have made him a highly sought-after option.

Meanwhile, Kentucky is also showing strong interest in Rob Wright from BYU Cougars, though details surrounding a potential visit for him remain uncertain.
