The wait is over — and it’s great news for Arkansas fans. Four-star forward has officially announced his commitment to the Arkansas Razorbacks, choosing the Hogs over finalists UConn and Providence.

A 6-foot-5, 185-pound wing from Notre Dame-West Haven (Conn.), revealed his decision on Friday, giving the Razorbacks one of their most significant recruiting wins in the 2025 class.
Toure is ranked as one of the top small forwards in the country, known for his length, athleticism, and ability to impact the game on both ends of the floor. His defensive versatility and transition scoring make him a perfect fit for the Razorbacks’ system, which thrives on pace, energy, and aggressive wing play.

For Arkansas, landing Toure is more than just signing another talented player. It’s a statement victory on the recruiting trail, beating out UConn, the reigning powerhouse of college basketball, and Providence, which had the advantage of being the hometown option.
Arkansas made Toure a priority more than a year ago, extending an official offer in August 2023. From there, the coaching staff worked tirelessly to build a relationship with the four-star prospect.
The Razorbacks attended several of his games on the Adidas Circuit with the Boston Amateur Basketball Club, made consistent school visits when NCAA rules allowed, and hosted him twice in Fayetteville.

His first unofficial visit came last October during the LSU football weekend, which gave him a taste of Razorback Nation’s energy. He later returned for his official visit on Sept. 12–14, where the coaching staff emphasized his role as a potential impact player from day one. That effort clearly paid off.
Toure’s decision is also a blow to the programs he passed on. UConn, the reigning national champion, had been pushing hard to keep him close to home, offering the chance to join one of the most dominant programs in the country. Providence, meanwhile, pitched the appeal of being the local star in the Big East.
But in the end, the opportunity to play a central role at Arkansas won out.
Toure is the kind of player who makes an immediate impact. At 6-foot-5 with length and quickness, he can defend multiple positions, slash to the basket, and create transition offense. His athleticism fits perfectly into the Razorbacks’ system, and his two-way potential gives him a chance to be a fan favorite from the moment he steps on the court.
Recruiting analysts project him as a high-upside player who can grow into a centerpiece for the program. For Arkansas, that means Toure could be one of the key building blocks in their push to climb back among the SEC’s elite.
With Toure now officially committed, Arkansas’ 2025 class takes a major step forward. His decision not only strengthens the roster but also builds momentum for future recruiting battles, showing that the Razorbacks can go toe-to-toe with basketball powerhouses and win.
For fans, this commitment signals something even bigger: Arkansas basketball is on the rise — and Abdou Toure is ready to help lead the charge.
