The injury occurred midway through the second quarter at Lincoln Financial Field when Eagles linebacker Zack Baun broke up a pass from Jaxson Dart intended for Skattebo and brought him down awkwardly. Skattebo’s leg twisted beneath him, leaving his foot pointing the wrong way as he remained on the turf.

Trainers quickly placed his leg in an air cast before he was carted off and taken to a nearby hospital. The Giants later confirmed that Skattebo had dislocated his ankle.

Despite Skattebo’s injury, the Giants fell 38–20 to Philadelphia. After the game, fellow running back Tyrone Tracy Jr. said that even in pain, Skattebo was motivating his teammates.
