The Seattle Mariners have seen a massive wave of departures this week — a full-blown roster shake-up that’s left their farm system looking dramatically different.

It’s that time of year again when players who’ve reached the end of their minor league contracts hit free agency, either after six full years in an organization or at the conclusion of individual short-term deals. For Seattle, that exodus is particularly steep.

A staggering 31 players from the Mariners organization have officially become free agents — the second-most in all of Major League Baseball, trailing only the Washington Nationals (34). Baseball America released the full list of names, which includes notable arms and familiar faces such as:

Among the group, Michael Fulmer stands out as the most accomplished, with both prospect pedigree and big-league experience that should earn him another opportunity soon. Jacob Nottingham, once a highly regarded catching prospect, also remains a name to watch. Meanwhile, Cade Marlowe and Jesse Hahn could find their way back to the majors with the right opportunity.

Nick Anderson, Hagen Danner, Dylan File, Michael Fulmer, Jesse Hahn, Casey Lawrence, Collin Snider, Josh Fleming, Cade Marlowe, Jacob Nottingham, and Austin Shenton — among many others.
While the list of exits is long, this is part of the annual offseason churn that reshapes every organization. As dozens of players around the league elect free agency, the Mariners now have the chance to reload their minor league ranks — and perhaps uncover the next diamond in the rough.
