The decision stems from Zibanejad missing a team meeting, as reported by The Athletic’s Vince Mercogliano. The Rangers confirmed the punishment will last just one game, with Zibanejad expected to return to the lineup on Tuesday.

Head coach Mike Sullivan addressed the situation, noting that timing issues related to the city played a role in Zibanejad being late.

Sullivan emphasized that Zibanejad understands the team’s expectations and the importance of following established rules.
