BREAKING: Gamecocks Get Major Boost As Key Quarterback Returns For 2026

South Carolina football quarterback LaNorris Sellers received a major offensive boost this holiday season, and it didn’t stop with his own return. Just days after Sellers announced he would be back for another year, his favorite target made the same decision.

Star wide receiver Nyck Harbor confirmed he will return for his senior season, sharing a “run it back” message that echoed his quarterback’s announcement. The move keeps one of the Gamecocks’ most dangerous offensive connections intact heading into 2026.

Sellers and Harbor built strong chemistry during the 2025 season, combining for 30 receptions, 618 yards, and six touchdowns — all career highs for Harbor. With both players returning, expectations will rise for even bigger production in the coming season.

The good news for South Carolina doesn’t end there. The Gamecocks are also welcoming back a key defensive cornerstone.

Defensive standout Dylan Stewart has opted to bypass both the NFL Draft and the transfer portal, choosing instead to remain in Columbia. Stewart secured a new NIL deal to lock in his return and is expected to be among the highest-paid defenders in college football, according to ESPN insider Pete Thamel.

With Sellers, Harbor, and Stewart all set to return, South Carolina retains three of its most impactful players for what shapes up to be a pivotal 2026 season. Despite finishing 4–8 last year, the Gamecocks will also bring back head coach Shane Beamer, giving the program continuity as it looks to take a step forward.
