BREAKING: Mets Just Received Another Major Injury Update On Luis Robert Jr.

The 2026 season continues to spiral in the wrong direction for the New York Mets, and the latest update surrounding Luis Robert Jr. only adds to the growing frustration around the organization. What initially appeared to be a difficult stretch has quickly turned into a disappointing campaign filled with injuries, inconsistency, and uncertainty about when key players will return to the lineup.

According to Chelsea Janes of SNY, Robert is still far from making his way back onto the field, delivering a discouraging update for a team desperately needing a spark.

“Luis Robert Jr. has not even begun baseball activities, so write him off for now. That leaves Lindor as the last big piece, and he was running, throwing, and taking ground balls for several days even before this road trip. Considering he will likely need a substantial ramp-up period on a rehab assignment before returning, a conservative estimate for his return could be two to three weeks, or mid-to-late-June, barring a setback,” Janes wrote.

The Mets were already struggling before Robert suffered his injury, but things have only worsened since then. Entering play at 27-35, New York sits at the bottom of the NL East standings and trails the Atlanta Braves by 15 games. They are also six games behind the Pittsburgh Pirates in the race for the National League’s final Wild Card spot.

Coming into the season, expectations for the Mets varied widely, with some analysts believing the roster had enough talent to compete for the division title. Instead, injuries to several star players have completely derailed any momentum they hoped to build. The uncertainty surrounding Robert’s recovery has only intensified concerns about the team’s direction moving forward.

Despite the mounting setbacks, the Mets will continue searching for answers as they try to stay competitive and slowly climb back into postseason contention before the season slips even further away.
