BREAKING: Luis Robert Jr. Sends Strong Message About His Injury Recovery

New York Mets outfielder Luis Robert Jr. is currently working his way back from a concerning back injury, with the team closely monitoring his recovery process. On Thursday, just before the Mets’ matchup against the St. Louis Cardinals, Robert offered a key update on how things are progressing.

Early reports had suggested that Robert may still be some distance away from a return to action, making his latest comments particularly important for both the team and fans tracking his status.

Robert has dealt with injury issues throughout much of his career, despite consistently showing strong potential when on the field. During his time with the Chicago White Sox from 2020 to 2025, he only managed to appear in more than 110 games in a single season. That came in 2023, when he stayed healthier and earned the first All-Star selection of his career.

So far in the 2026 season, Robert has played 24 games and is hitting .224/.327/.329 across 98 plate appearances. He has recorded two home runs, three doubles, and two stolen bases, showing flashes of his ability but still searching for consistency.

“We’re continuing the plan of the trainers, continue to try to strengthen the back there,” Robert said via interpreter, per SNY. “As of right now we’re just following that plan. But I don’t feel any real pain.”

Meanwhile, the Mets have struggled as a team, entering Thursday’s game against the Cardinals with a 29-38 record and sitting at the bottom of the National League East standings. Despite that, there is still time for a turnaround if the roster can find stability and string together better performances.

For now, the focus remains on Robert’s health and gradual return to full strength as the Mets wait for further updates on his condition.
