BREAKING: Kansas State Lands Commitment From Talented Four-Star Forward in Massive Recruiting Boost

Kansas State has secured its first commitment in the 2027 recruiting class, landing four-star small forward in an early recruiting victory for new head coach Casey Alexander.

The 6-foot-4, 175-pound standout from Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas announced his commitment just days after receiving an offer from the Wildcats, giving Kansas State a significant addition to its future roster. Kameron Cooper becomes the Wildcats’ first pledge in the 2027 class.

Kameron Cooper’s commitment also carries a family connection. He is the son of Kansas State assistant coach John Cooper, who joined Alexander’s coaching staff this offseason. Despite the relationship, Cooper’s recruitment moved quickly after Kansas State extended an offer in late June before ultimately securing his commitment.

The Las Vegas native has emerged as one of the top prospects in the 2027 class. Known for his versatility on both ends of the floor, Cooper has developed into one of Nevada’s premier high school players thanks to his athleticism, perimeter scoring ability and defensive upside.

According to 247Sports’ recruiting rankings, Cooper is rated as a four-star prospect and is one of the highest-ranked players in the 2027 class. Recruiting analyst Adam Finkelstein has previously highlighted Cooper’s combination of size, skill and long-term potential, traits that have made him a coveted national recruit.

Kansas State’s addition of Cooper gives Alexander an important foundation as he begins building the Wildcats’ future recruiting classes. Landing a highly regarded prospect this early in the 2027 cycle provides momentum for the program as the new coaching staff continues to establish itself on the recruiting trail.
