Nottingham Forest made an attempt to sign Fiorentina right-back Dodo during the summer transfer window, but a deal ultimately failed to materialise. However, the Premier League club could soon find themselves with a more favourable opportunity to bring the Brazilian to the City Ground.
Sport Witness previously reported that Fiorentina were open to selling Dodo, with the defender’s current contract at the Italian club set to expire in 2027. As a result, La Viola were keen to consider suitable offers rather than risk allowing his situation to become more complicated.
Forest came relatively close to completing a deal at one stage, but their proposal was turned down because Fiorentina were holding out for a higher transfer fee.
Now, however, the situation appears to be changing following a difficult start to the campaign.

The situation could now change following Fabio Grosso’s dismissal and the return of Paolo Vanoli as manager. Vanoli regularly relied on Dodo during the second half of last season, meaning the defender could once again become an important figure in the team.
Despite the potential for a fresh start, Dodo’s long-term future at Fiorentina remains unclear.
