Duke Basketball Latest: Isaiah Evans finally breaks silence on his future with Duke

There hasn’t been any roster movement for Duke basketball since the season concluded, leaving fans eager to interpret any sign that might hint at what’s next for the team’s players.

The latest potential clue involves Isaiah Evans, who has gained significant national attention since the season ended.

Evans still has all three pathways open: he could return to Duke for his sophomore year, declare for the NBA Draft, or enter the transfer portal.

As a freshman, Evans brought scoring energy off the bench but saw limited action in Duke’s Final Four loss to Houston.

Recently, he shared an Instagram story featuring a photo of himself celebrating a 3-pointer. While the post was likely tied to an NIL deal with PoetrYY Finance — who had spotlighted him in a promotional video during the Final Four — it still sparked optimism among fans hoping for his return to Durham.

After Duke’s tournament exit, Evans also posted a photo carousel reflecting on his freshman year.

This season, he averaged 6.8 points per game and shot 41.6% (62-for-149) from beyond the arc but managed just nine total points across five NCAA Tournament games.

Meanwhile, Cooper Flagg, Kon Knueppel, and Khaman Maluach are expected to enter the NBA Draft, pending official word. Head coach Jon Scheyer now faces key decisions from Evans, Tyrese Proctor, and Caleb Foster.

Duke will also welcome the nation’s top-ranked recruiting class this summer, led by twins Cameron and Cayden Boozer, sons of former Duke star Carlos Boozer.
