Breaking News: Done Deal!! Knicks Confirms Intriguing Deal For a Top Physically Talented All-Star Playmaker

The New York Knicks have been confirmed to acquire Philadelphia 76ers star  in a trade this offseason.

Michael Saenz of Sir Charles in Charge suggested that the 76ers might be experiencing buyer’s remorse, which could motivate them to trade veteran star (via Caleb Hightower of The Sporting News). The 34-year-old veteran had a subpar 2024-25 season by his usual standards, averaging 16.2 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 4.3 assists per game.

Although those stats fell short of his typical All-NBA output, the Fresno State alum remains one of the top two-way players in the league. George’s elite shot-creating ability could make him a more suitable addition for the Knicks than someone like Mikal Bridges.

Could George be what Knicks need to win title?

Despite the talent on the Knicks’ current roster, they still seem to be missing a key piece to break through in the Eastern Conference—let alone contend for an NBA title.

Paul George represents a more refined version of what Mikal Bridges brings on both ends of the court. His veteran presence and elite ability to knock down threes—whether off the catch or the dribble—could be a better fit alongside Karl-Anthony Towns, Jalen Brunson, and OG Anunoby in New York.

Although his contract, which exceeds $50 million annually for the next three seasons, would be difficult for the Knicks to absorb without compromising their core, George could be a game-changing addition if he becomes available on the trade market.
