Breaking: 5-star Talent Announce Major Commitment to Duke Basketball

The Duke Blue Devils captured national attention with their impressive run to the NCAA Tournament Final Four.

Now, head coach Jon Scheyer and his staff are focused on rebuilding the roster for the 2025-26 season.

Kon Knueppel and Tyrese Proctor are among the players who won’t be returning, but with a highly touted incoming recruiting class and several key players coming back, Scheyer has reason to be optimistic about Duke’s ability to remain a top contender.

One major boost came earlier this week when Caleb Foster, a former five-star recruit, announced he will return to Durham for his junior year.

Foster’s decision sparked quite a buzz among fans, especially after Proctor shared his reaction to the news:

“Downhill U Loading,” he posted.

Proctor, who started 38 games this past season and missed just one, averaged 12.4 points per game and hit 40.5% from beyond the arc. As a freshman, he averaged 9.4 points per game and was instrumental in Duke’s ACC Championship. He followed that up with a sophomore campaign in which he served as team captain and averaged 10.5 points per game.

Foster’s return adds much-needed experience to Duke’s backcourt. The 6-foot-5 guard from Harrisburg, North Carolina, appeared in all 38 games last season, including the Final Four matchup against Houston, where he logged 13 minutes and grabbed four rebounds in the narrow 70-67 defeat.

As the Blue Devils aim for their sixth NCAA title—and their first championship appearance since 2015—Foster’s leadership and playmaking will be vital.
