Deion Sanders is backing up his post-spring game promise, as Colorado has been busy in the transfer portal. Shortly after the conclusion of the Black vs. Gold spring game, the Buffaloes secured two key additions to their secondary: former Illinois State cornerback and Auburn safety.
Top veteran star, who attended Colorado’s spring game, committed less than an hour after it ended. A standout at Illinois State, he earned a reputation as one of the top FCS cornerbacks, recording 41 tackles, 11 pass breakups, and an interception in 2024. He played a major role in ISU’s 10-4 season and FCS Playoff appearance. The 6-foot-1, 185-pound corner arrives in Boulder with two years of eligibility remaining and is expected to contribute meaningful depth to CU’s cornerback rotation, even if he doesn’t start in 2025.
Love also visited for the spring game and committed to Colorado on Sunday afternoon. Over two seasons at Auburn, he served as a reliable depth piece, appearing in 22 games and posting eight tackles and a pass breakup. With two years of eligibility left, Love is another valuable addition and could step in for either Tawfiq Byard or Carter Stoutmire when needed.

Heading into the spring transfer window, secondary depth was a pressing concern for the Buffaloes. While the starting unit—featuring Preston Hodge, DJ McKinney, Tawfiq Byard, and Colton Hood—was strong, the backups were a question mark. The arrivals of Parks and Love have helped solidify that group.
Expect Colorado to stay active in the portal in the coming days. Sanders hinted at more moves during his postgame press conference, so stay tuned to Ralphie Report for the latest updates.
