Breaking News: Bills Super Deal Lands $72 Million Pro Bowl CB

The Miami Dolphins are actively exploring trade options for Pro Bowl cornerback, and on paper, the Buffalo Bills could be an ideal landing spot. He would complement Christian Benford well on the outside and could mesh with the likes of Tre’Davious White and Dane Jackson in the secondary. While the idea of Miami dealing a star defender to their division rival might seem unlikely, the AFC East rivalry isn’t the main hurdle—money is.

The Dolphins inked him to a three-year, $72 million extension last year, and that hefty contract has now become a challenge. It’s important to note that Ramsey hasn’t requested a trade, but Dolphins general manager Chris Grier confirmed during his recent pre-draft press conference that the team is looking to move him sooner rather than later. Ramsey has reportedly expressed interest in joining a Super Bowl contender, and the Bills certainly fit that mold. They were just one first down away from a potential trip to the Super Bowl last season, before falling to the Chiefs in the AFC title game.

Still, the financial implications of acquiring Ramsey are significant, and the idea of a trade with Buffalo comes with a bit of baggage. Back in 2018, Ramsey infamously called Bills quarterback Josh Allen “trash”—a comment Allen has made sure to quietly silence with his performances ever since. A trade would certainly bring an awkward dynamic to the locker room, regardless of the compensation.

If the deal somehow materializes, though, Ramsey could be the missing piece the Bills need to finally leap past Kansas City and end their decades-long Super Bowl drought. While there are plenty of hurdles—both financial and personal—the potential upside might just be worth navigating the complications.
