Breaking News: Gators Confirms Intriguing Recruit For a Top Talented International Guard as Backcourt Reinforcement

It’s been a hectic stretch for Todd Golden and his staff since capturing the national championship. Due to Florida’s deep NCAA Tournament run, the Gators have had a delayed start in shaping their roster for the 2025–26 season.

Although a few players have left the program — including the surprising exit of Denzel Aberdeen — Florida has shown no hesitation in casting a wide net to find suitable replacements.

French guard Evan Boisdur shared with Robert Devlin of Hail Florida Hail that he’s been in communication with the Florida coaching staff. He also mentioned that they’ve scheduled a Zoom meeting.

In France’s ProA U21 League, Evan Boisdur put up impressive numbers, averaging 21.5 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 4.0 assists in about 33 minutes per game, while also contributing 2.6 steals on average.

Known for regularly appearing in French basketball highlight reels, Boisdur is reportedly aiming to continue his career in the United States. Florida has shown interest in him as they look to expand their growing pool of international talent.

Boisdur , who suits up for Gravelines, is regarded as one of the top players in the French youth league. Even in a loss to Nanterre, he showcased clear professional potential. A dynamic scoring point guard, Boisdur blends high-level skills with elite speed and athleticism.

6’1″ French guard Evan Boisdur has been putting on a show in the French U21 league this season, dominating in impressive fashion.

This wouldn’t be the first time Florida head coach Todd Golden has looked to Europe for talent. This past season, the Gators got meaningful contributions from Slovenian guard Urban Klavžar, particularly in the latter half of the year. The roster also featured Lithuania’s Kajus Kublickas, along with other international players like Alex Condon, Viktor Mikic, Rueben Chinyelu, and Olivier Rioux.

Golden and his staff are making guard depth a top priority this offseason, with the program needing to replace key backcourt contributors Walter Clayton Jr., Alijah Martin, and Will Richard, all of whom have exhausted their eligibility.

Additionally, both Kajus Kublickas and Denzel Aberdeen have entered the transfer portal, further emphasizing the Gators’ need to reload at the guard position.
