South Carolina has secured its second commitment during the spring transfer window. Just two weeks after bringing in edge rusher from the portal, the Gamecocks added another defensive end—, the school announced.
He might be a familiar name to Gamecock fans, as he originally committed to South Carolina back in July 2020, choosing USC over Arizona State, North Carolina, and Penn State as a Top-200 prospect. However, after head coach Will Muschamp was fired that November, Wilson decommitted and ultimately signed with Florida State.
At FSU, he redshirted his first season and saw limited playing time in his second before entering the transfer portal. He ended up at FCS program Campbell in 2023, where he performed well over two seasons, recording 34 tackles and seven sacks. Campbell University is a private institution in Buies Creek, North Carolina, competing in the Big South Conference.
It’s unclear when Wilson officially entered the portal this time, or which schools pursued him, as he didn’t make any public announcements on social media. The 6-foot-4, 230-pound Virginia Beach native will have one year of eligibility remaining at South Carolina.
