Huge Boost: Buffs Confirms Another Intriguing Commitment For Another 4- star Top Physically Talented Playmaker

There’s a reason Coach Prime keeps landing talent.

Just days after visiting Boulder, former Kansas State freshman officially committed to Colorado. The 6-foot-2, 200-pound defensive back—once ranked among the top 30 corners in the 2025 recruiting class—becomes Deion Sanders’ 10th addition from the spring transfer portal window.

He brings size, athleticism, and upside to a Colorado secondary that continues to reload under Sanders’ watch. With his background as a highly touted recruit, King could compete for early playing time in a defensive backfield that emphasizes speed, confidence, and playmaking.

And honestly, no one should be surprised.

I noted that Noah King’s scheduled visit to Boulder felt like a perfect match from the start. He’d already been to Miami (Fla.) and had other visits lined up—Miami (Ohio), Houston—but as the old Coach Mac saying goes: if you can get them to Boulder, they won’t want to go anywhere else.

Top prospect didn’t see the field this spring at Kansas State, but that doesn’t mean he lacks readiness. In his senior season at Hamilton High School (OH), he posted 41 tackles, 3.5 TFLs, a sack, an interception, and four pass breakups. He’s physical, instinctive, and brimming with upside—everything you want in a developmental DB.

He now joins a group of four defensive backs arriving via the portal this summer, along with John Slaughter (Tennessee), Teon Parks (Illinois State), and Terrance Love (Auburn). And it’s coming at the perfect time. With stars like Travis Hunter, Shilo Sanders, and Cam’Ron Silmon-Craig off to the NFL—and others like Colton Hood and Savion Riley transferring out—Colorado’s secondary was in desperate need of reinforcements.

Now, it’s starting to look formidable again.

King was ranked the No. 7 safety in the portal and a top-200 overall player, making him one of the most coveted defensive backs still available. His commitment gives Colorado a huge late-cycle boost and vaults the Buffs up to No. 20 in 247Sports’ transfer portal team rankings—yes, ahead of Alabama.

Whether King earns a starting spot this fall will depend on how quickly he grasps the scheme and adjusts to Big 12 speed. But he’s walking into a program with elite DB development, and his blend of size, skill, and swagger fits Deion Sanders’ blueprint perfectly.

Would you like a projected two-deep for Colorado’s secondary heading into the summer?
