Breaking News: Bills Officially Cut $120 Star, He Is Joining Rival AFC Team

After being released by the Buffalo Bills, the Edge Rusher is returning to the organization that first took him into the NFL.

He struggled in his return from a ruptured ACL in 2022, playing a limited role with the Bills for two seasons until being released in a cost-cutting move earlier this offseason. While the 36-year-old has not stated publicly what he intends to do next, a former teammate has confirmed his return to the Denver Broncos.

During a recent appearance on Up and Adams, former Broncos tight end Julius Thomas shared his belief that Von Miller will finish his NFL career where it all began — in Denver. Speaking with host Kay Adams, Thomas acknowledged that while Miller may not be at his peak anymore, he still sees the veteran as a valuable asset for a team on the rise.

“Can Von still make a few big plays each game? Definitely,” Thomas said. “Does he need to be out there for 60 snaps? That’s for the coaches and Von to decide. But I still believe he can pressure the quarterback.”

The Broncos, who secured a wild-card spot last season before being eliminated by the Bills in the first round, are viewed as a team on the upswing.

Miller himself has expressed interest in returning to Denver. After being released by the Bills, he appeared on Up & Adams and hinted at the possibility.

“I’ve always loved the blue and orange,” Miller said. “We’ll see what happens. It’s a fun time in my career right now — just taking it one day at a time. It’s exciting, even a little scary.

“For me, I’ve already accomplished everything I set out to do. Whatever comes next, I’m open to it. Exploring new teams, new quarterbacks — that’s exciting. You can’t replace someone like Josh Allen and the kind of season he had, but stepping into a new situation has its own appeal.”

Bills Left Door Open for Von Miller’s Return

The Bills haven’t ruled out the possibility of Von Miller returning, with general manager Brandon Beane stating after Miller’s release that the team might consider bringing him back at the right price. Under Beane, the Bills have shown a pattern of reuniting with familiar veterans, as seen this offseason when they re-signed cornerbacks Tre’Davious White and Dane Jackson, who both played elsewhere in 2024.

A late-season reunion remains possible. The Bills have a history of bringing back former players in response to injuries down the stretch, like in 2022 when they pulled wide receiver Cole Beasley out of retirement for the final games and postseason.
