BREAKING: 5 New York Giants Players Are Officially Leaving

The New York Giants are heading into a pivotal 2025 season. After a dismal 3-14 record in 2024, the franchise is under immense pressure to rebound and re-establish itself as a contender. That urgency is especially high for five key figures within the organization.

EDGE Kayvon Thibodeaux

As he enters the final year of his rookie deal, Kayvon Thibodeaux has yet to justify his selection as a top-five pick. The Giants’ decision to draft edge rusher Abdul Carter third overall this year immediately raised questions about Thibodeaux’s future with the team. After a lackluster 2024 campaign, he must show flashes of the elite talent he was projected to be if he hopes to remain part of the team’s long-term plans.

LT Andrew Thomas

Arguably the most important player on the Giants’ offense, Andrew Thomas is critical to the unit’s success—but his availability has been a major issue. Over the last two seasons, he’s missed 18 games, or more than half of the team’s contests. If Thomas can’t stay healthy in 2025, the Giants’ offensive struggles will likely continue, and the team may be forced to consider more reliable options at left tackle.

CB Deonte Banks

Deonte Banks has had a challenging start to his NFL career, facing significant responsibilities in a struggling secondary. While he showed promise as a rookie, his performance regressed in his second season. Now entering his third year and shifting into a CB2 role, Banks will be under less pressure—but he still needs to step up and prove he can be a dependable piece in the secondary.

RT Evan Neal

After the Giants declined his fifth-year option, Evan Neal is entering a make-or-break year. Drafted seventh overall in 2022, he has consistently underperformed and has failed to solidify himself as a reliable starter. A likely move to guard in 2025 could give Neal one last opportunity to prove he belongs on the roster.

HC Brian Daboll

No one faces more scrutiny than head coach Brian Daboll. After a promising first season that earned him Coach of the Year honors in 2022, the last two years have been filled with disappointment. If the Giants endure another disastrous season, Daboll’s job could be on the line. He must deliver a competitive team in 2025 to secure his future in New York.
