BREAKING NEWS: The Tigers Receives Another Stunning News Involving Jake Rogers

Jake Rogers is set to pick up right where he left off.

The Detroit Tigers catcher was originally slated to catch ace Tarik Skubal on April 8 but suffered an injury in the batting cage before the game. Dillon Dingler stepped in that night and has caught all six of Skubal’s starts since then.

Now back from the injured list as of Tuesday, Rogers will look to resume his streak of starts with Skubal — a stretch that had reached 37 consecutive games before his injury. He’ll be behind the plate tonight as the Tigers (31-17) take on the Cardinals (27-21) at 7:45 p.m. ET at Busch Stadium.

In addition to Rogers’ return, the Tigers will have infielders Andy Ibáñez and Colt Keith, along with outfielder Justyn-Henry Malloy, available off the bench. The full lineup has been posted.

On the mound:
Detroit left-hander Tarik Skubal (4-2, 2.67 ERA) will face St. Louis right-hander Erick Fedde (3-3, 3.44 ERA).

Skubal has been dominant this season, tallying 71 strikeouts and just six walks over 54 innings. This will mark his third career appearance at Busch Stadium — his first there since 2021.

Fedde, now 32, was acquired by the Cardinals at last summer’s trade deadline. After a successful stint in Korea in 2023, he has rejuvenated his MLB career with a solid start to the 2025 campaign.
