Colorado football continues to aggressively build its roster, with head coach Deion Sanders landing another addition from the college football transfer portal just ahead of Memorial Day weekend. The Buffaloes have added a top talented cornerback, who brings a track record of creating turnovers.
According to Hayes Fawcett of On3, he is transferring from Wyoming and has one year of eligibility remaining. He visited Colorado’s campus on May 13, per 247Sports.
Though he is undersized at 5-foot-9 and 185 pounds, he brings strong production and physicality to Boulder. While at Wyoming, he recorded 60 solo tackles, two interceptions, three fumble recoveries, and 15 pass breakups.
Davis also has special teams experience — he blocked a field goal during the 2024 season against San Jose State — making him a versatile asset for Sanders and the Buffaloes.
Colorado, Deion Sanders adding late additions via transfer portal
Now entering his third year at the helm, Colorado head coach Deion Sanders continues to aggressively utilize the transfer portal — the very strategy that jump-started the Buffaloes’ rebuild. In fact, just a day ago, Colorado added to its offensive line through the portal.
The Buffaloes landed UCLA transfer Walker Andersen on Saturday. At 6-foot-8 and 335 pounds, Andersen will be one of the tallest players on the roster this fall and is expected to play a key role in improving the team’s pass protection in 2025.

Meanwhile, cornerback Tyrecus Davis arrives at Colorado after competing in the Mountain West Conference. He began his college career at Navarro College in Greenville, Texas, where he earned a three-star JUCO ranking according to the 247Sports composite. Davis received nine offers at the junior college level, but only Wyoming and San Jose State represented Mountain West opportunities.
Davis isn’t the only MWC defender joining the Buffaloes. On December 18, 2024, Colorado also picked up interior defensive lineman Gavriel Lightfoot from Fresno State, continuing Sanders’ trend of bringing in productive Group of Five talent.
