Breaking: Just In, Duke Land a Huge Commitment From Five-star Shooting Guard

Just a few weeks ago, the Kansas Jayhawks showed serious interest in, a five-star shooting guard from Italy. However, their recruitment efforts hit a snag when Duke’s Jon Scheyer entered the race.

Now, Sarr has officially committed to the Duke Blue Devils, strengthening an already stacked 2025 recruiting class for the powerhouse program.

While Kansas made a strong push until the very end, they ultimately couldn’t compete with Duke’s appeal.

“Duke was my dream school,” Sarr explained. “I played with Jabari Parker, who went there. Once I got the opportunity, I had to take it… My goal is to make it to the NBA, and there’s no better place to get ready for that than Duke.”

Sarr also highlighted how his time playing professionally in Europe would complement his development at Duke as he eyes a future in the NBA.

With his decision, Duke essentially snatched Sarr away from Kansas, causing frustration among Jayhawk fans nationwide.

Currently, Duke boasts the No. 2 recruiting class for 2025. In contrast, Kansas sits at No. 42. Adding to the disparity, Duke retained all of its players in the transfer portal, while Kansas lost six and added just three.

Dame Sarr, 2025 Nike Hoop Summit

Dame Sarr becomes the second five-star to commit to Duke this spring, joining power forward Cameron Boozer. The Blue Devils have also secured commitments from four-star forward Nikolas Khamenia and four-star guard Cayden Boozer, rounding out a formidable 2025 class.
