Blockbuster Recruit: Nittany Lions Confirms Intriguing Commitment For Another Top Talented Guard

Penn State men’s basketball has added another international talent to its 2025-26 roster. Turkish guard, a 19-year-old standout who recently played for Turk Telekom Ankara, has committed to the Nittany Lions, according to a report from Eurohopes. Standing at 6-foot-5, he has drawn attention for his performances with the Turkish U20 national team, where he averaged 17.6 points and 6.4 assists last summer.

He also gained professional experience this past season in Turkey’s Basketbol Süper Ligi (BSL), posting 7.2 points and 2.2 assists per game, and made appearances in the BKT EuroCup, where he averaged 2.9 points in 8.5 minutes per game while shooting 30% from three-point range.

His addition comes as Penn State rebuilds from a turbulent offseason that saw 10 scholarship players depart following a disappointing 16-15 finish. The team lost five players to graduation, four to the transfer portal, and one — 7-footer Yanic Konan Niederhauser — to the NBA Draft. Head coach Mike Rhoades has responded by adding four newcomers this spring: Cincinnati transfer Josh Reed, Croatian big man Ivan Juric, high school guard Reggie Grodin, and now Tunca.

Tunca is the latest international prospect to join the Nittany Lions under Rhoades, who has begun to tap into global talent markets. With three returning players and three previously signed recruits, Penn State now has 10 players on the roster, still leaving room to fill more spots before the season tips off.
