The Chicago Bulls continue to struggle to make a significant impact in the Eastern Conference, and they’re looking to change that.
So, how can they do it? It may require some roster shake-ups this summer. According to a new report, the Bulls could be at risk of losing one of their key players.
“This is purely speculative, but two different Eastern Conference personnel believe the Bulls are unlikely to keep both stars. If Giddey is secured long-term, White might be the one to go. I’m skeptical of that because it would be an unusually bold move for the Bulls. Cutting costs fits their history—but not something this drastic,” said Hardwood Paroxysm, via NBACentral.
It appears the Bulls may have to choose between Josh Giddey and Coby White for the upcoming season, though it’s still unclear which one could be on the move.
Both players made strong contributions during the 2025-26 campaign. Giddey, in his first year with Chicago, averaged 14.6 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 7.2 assists while shooting 46.5% from the floor.
White, a Bull since the 2019-20 season, posted 20.4 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 4.5 assists per game. Given White’s longer tenure with the team, does that give him an edge?

That will ultimately come down to how the Bulls assess their future and which player they believe better aligns with their goals.
Could they find a way to keep both?
It’s not impossible, but after falling short this season, the front office seems intent on making changes. With limited options available, parting ways with either Giddey or White looks increasingly likely.
