The Minnesota Vikings will have a new starting quarterback for the 2025 season, however the QB1 has yet to be announced.
Justin Jefferson, the Vikings’ standout receiver, was asked what he’d like the potential starting quarterback to know about him before playing alongside the four-time Pro Bowler. He felt confident in his recommendations.
“Just throw it up anywhere, and I’ll go get it,” Jefferson told reporters Monday.

Jefferson is not completely wrong. He has over 1,000 receiving yards in each of his five seasons with the Vikings and has consistently been the team’s best receiver, even though he only participated in 10 games in 2023. In 2024, Jefferson grabbed 103 of 154 catches for 1,533 yards and ten touchdowns.
J.J. McCarthy, the Vikings’ 2024 first-round choice, is expected to start after missing the 2024 season with a ruptured meniscus suffered in the preseason. He entered OTAs with no limitations, so if he remains injury-free, the Vikings will most likely call him QB1.
