Just In: Kings Confirm To Make Big Move With DeMar DeRozan

The Sacramento Kings have fallen out of playoff contention following a brief but promising run a couple of seasons ago.

This summer, they’re aiming to turn things around quickly and are carefully evaluating their options.

According to a recent report, the Kings aren’t looking to make widespread changes to their roster, but they are open to the possibility of moving DeMar DeRozan.

“The Kings are expected to gauge the market for \[DeMar] DeRozan this summer, sources said… For years, the Miami Heat have been labeled as a prime destination for DeRozan, and he will once again be viewed as a plausible target for Pat Riley’s team,” reported NBA insider Brett Siegel, via NBACentral.

Not only are the Kings considering moving on from DeMar DeRozan, but they reportedly already have a potential trade partner in mind: the Miami Heat.

The report also mentions that the Boston Celtics could emerge as a suitor, as DeRozan might help offset the loss of Jayson Tatum’s scoring while he recovers from injury next season.

Ultimately, if the Kings are set on trading DeRozan, there appear to be viable options available to get a deal done.

The big question now is: who will the Kings get in return for DeMar DeRozan, and are there any other players they might consider trading?

While there have been rumors suggesting that Domantas Sabonis could be on the move, this latest report indicates he’s staying put in Sacramento.

That likely makes DeRozan the team’s primary trade asset this offseason, so the Kings will need to maximize his value in any potential deal.

The fanbase remains divided—some are calling for a full rebuild, while others prefer a more measured, strategic approach.

Regardless of the direction the front office takes, it’s clear that not everyone will be satisfied with the outcome.
