Breaking: Philadelphia Eagles Add Another Familiar Face To Their Roster To Address Rotation

The Philadelphia Eagles have added another familiar face from Alabama to their roster, announcing Saturday that they’ve claimed running back Keilan Robinson off waivers.

Robinson was waived by the Jacksonville Jaguars on Friday. Since the Eagles hold the final spot in the NFL’s waiver order, all other teams passed on the opportunity before he landed in Philadelphia.

A fifth-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, Robinson’s rookie year got off to a slow start due to a toe injury suffered during training camp, which kept him on injured reserve for the first 11 games. He returned for Jacksonville’s final six games but saw limited action—only five offensive snaps—though he contributed on special teams with 51 snaps and two kickoff returns totaling 34 yards.

The Jaguars moved on from Robinson after drafting two more running backs—Bhayshul Tuten (Virginia Tech) in the fourth round and LeQuint Allen (Syracuse) in the seventh—while also returning top backs Tank Bigsby and Travis Etienne from the 2024 season.

Robinson began his college career at Alabama, where he rushed for 254 yards and two touchdowns on 39 carries in 2019, ranking third on the team behind Najee Harris and Brian Robinson Jr. After redshirting in 2020, he transferred to Texas to follow offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian when he became the Longhorns’ head coach.

At Texas, Robinson played behind star backs Bijan Robinson and Jonathon Brooks. Over three seasons, he totaled 542 rushing yards and six touchdowns on 82 carries, added 332 receiving yards and three touchdowns on 35 receptions, and returned 38 kickoffs for an average of 23.6 yards, including one return touchdown.
