Breaking: MLB Make Big Announcement Regarding Phillies’ Alec Bohm

Earlier this season, Philadelphia Phillies third baseman Alec Bohm was expected to be traded before the deadline. However, the Phillies are fortunate to have him after what he did on Wednesday against the Chicago Cubs.

Bohm ended with two singles, a home run, and four RBIs in the 7-2 victory. His performance was so spectacular that the MLB Network crew came up with imaginative and analytical methods to contextualize it.

The Philadelphia Phillies are 39-29 and retain second in the National League Eastern Division. They are 5.0 games back of the first-place New York Mets.

Bohm is batting. 283 with six home runs, 28 RBI, and 72 hits. Bohm’s stats are solid, despite some early-season problems. In terms of style, Bohm adds significant value to the Phillies.

He is a consistent middle-order batter. Furthermore, Bohm has a history of rising to the occasion.

In mid-May, Bohm homered against the Colorado Rockies, bringing the Phillies back from a 3-1 deficit in the eighth inning. The Phillies went on to win 9–3.

Bohm is a solid third baseman who can make big plays and has outstanding fielding range. Overall, he’s emerged as a very valuable player for a successful squad.

Why would the Phillies trade Alec Bohm?

Despite a good performance against the Cubs, Bohm has struggled since last season. In 2024, his stats fell from the start of the season.

Despite making the All-Star squad, Bohm saw his hitting average drop from.295 to.251. Furthermore, his OBP increased from.344 to.299, as did his slugging average, which went from.482 to.382.

Furthermore, Bohm is set to become a free agent following the 2026 season. The Phillies may attempt to bolster their team by trading for a more consistent player.

Furthermore, the Phillies maintain a large payroll. If they decide to keep Bohm for the long term, they may find it more difficult to keep their roster flexible.
