Breaking News: Bills Veteran WR Confirms Departure As He Finds New Home

Last season, the Buffalo Bills made a significant move by acquiring wide receiver  in hopes of giving Josh Allen a true No. 1 target. However, he didn’t live up to expectations in Buffalo.

In eight games with the Bills, he managed just 20 catches for 297 yards and two touchdowns.

Prior to the trade, he had played six games for the Browns in 2024, posting 24 receptions for 250 yards and two scores. His performance there was underwhelming, marked by dropped passes and what appeared to be a lack of motivation—likely due to the Browns’ quarterback struggles and persistent trade rumors throughout the offseason.

Unfortunately, a change of scenery didn’t reignite his performance in Buffalo. Now, he enters training camp as a free agent.

The Bills opted to move on this offseason, but he may still draw interest from teams in need of veteran help at wide receiver.

Amari Cooper Could Land In Arizona

Kristopher Knox of Bleacher Report believes the Arizona Cardinals should consider bringing in Amari Cooper to bolster their receiving corps.

“Whether the Cardinals look to the trade market or explore free-agent options like Amari Cooper and Gabe Davis, they should find a way to increase competition before training camp,” Knox wrote.

Adding Cooper could be a smart move for Arizona, giving them a chance to see what the veteran can offer. While the Cardinals already have one of the NFL’s most promising young wideouts in Marvin Harrison Jr., having an experienced receiver like Cooper could provide valuable mentorship and guidance.

It’s clear Cooper won’t be returning to Buffalo this fall—and that’s likely the right decision for both sides.

Bills Have Receivers Ready To Step Up

The Bills have two promising young wideouts in Khalil Shakir and rookie Keon Coleman, and both are expected to see significant playing time.

Buffalo’s success this season could hinge on the development of these two. If Shakir and Coleman emerge as stars, they could elevate the Bills to new heights.

Buffalo enters the season as a legitimate Super Bowl contender, and with a strong supporting cast, Josh Allen will also be in the hunt for his second NFL MVP award.

Patriots potential signee Amari Cooper

For that to happen, Shakir and Coleman will need to step up in major ways—both in helping Allen lead a high-powered offense and in pushing the Bills toward their first Super Bowl title.

It’s clear the organization is confident in its young talent, as they’ve only made modest additions at receiver, such as Josh Palmer and Elijah Moore—neither of whom has made a major splash so far.

Interestingly, Moore previously played alongside Amari Cooper in Cleveland. Perhaps he’ll connect with Cooper about the experience of catching passes from one of the NFL’s top quarterbacks.
