Breaking News: King Confirms Blockbuster Deal For Another Top Veteran Breakout Star

The 2025 NBA Draft is fast approaching, with the league’s next wave of talent set to hear their names called on June 25 and 26.

While several teams are gearing up for first-round action  June 25, others — like the Sacramento Kings — are focusing on the second round, which takes place the following day.

The Kings no longer hold a first-round pick this year due to a previous trade with the Atlanta Hawks. Although reports suggest Sacramento has been exploring ways to trade back into the first round, they currently only possess the 42nd overall selection.

In a recent ESPN mock draft, the Sacramento Kings are projected to use the 42nd overall pick to select a standout guard from the Wisconsin Badgers.

Top star had an impressive year in his first season with Wisconsin, emerging as a key contributor and making a strong case as one of the top breakout players in college basketball.

The 6-foot-5 guard wrapped up the season with averages of 19.6 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game, while shooting an efficient 46.5% from the field and an impressive 38.8% from beyond the arc.

This marked a significant turnaround from Tonje’s earlier college years at Colorado State and Missouri, where injuries hindered his ability to stay on the court consistently.

However, during his lone season with Wisconsin, Tonje managed to remain healthy and emerged as one of the nation’s top scorers. His strong play helped lead the Badgers to the second round of the NCAA Tournament, where they were ultimately upset by Egor Demin and BYU.

Thanks to his breakout season, the 24-year-old guard has steadily climbed draft boards and is now projected to be selected in the late second round. There’s no question that Tonje would be a valuable addition to the Kings’ roster, particularly given their current struggles with guard depth.

Though Tonje is primarily known for his scoring prowess, he also brings solid defense and rebounding to the table. If he can continue to improve his court vision and passing ability, he has the potential to develop into a capable point guard option for the Kings, should they decide to draft him.
