Jedd Fisch gave a subtle hint, and not long after, the Washington Huskies landed two more commitments for their 2026 recruiting class.
This morning, Fisch posted four purple umbrella emojis on social media — a now-familiar signal that recruiting news was imminent. Later that day, two Las Vegas prospects — four-star safety Gavin Day and three-star offensive tackle Dominic Harris — announced their commitments to UW.
Day, ranked the No. 2 overall recruit in Nevada and the No. 19 safety in the nation by 247Sports, became UW’s first safety commit in the 2026 cycle and is currently the third-highest rated prospect in the class.
The 6-foot-3, 190-pound standout from Faith Lutheran High School recorded 110 tackles, 17 tackles for loss, and two interceptions in 2024. He chose UW over offers from programs like Arizona, Arizona State, Iowa, Oregon State, Texas A&M, USC, and others.
Recruiting analyst Brandon Huffman praised Day for his versatility and physical style of play:
“Day is one of the top safeties in the West, with the frame and skill set to possibly develop into a hybrid safety-linebacker. He’s rangy, fast to the ball, and brings a physical presence. His instincts, burst, and downhill speed make him a true enforcer in the secondary — a tough, old-school defender with high Power 4 potential.”
Meanwhile, Harris — a towering 6-foot-7, 335-pound lineman from Ed W. Clark High School — is the No. 4 overall recruit in Nevada and ranked 26th nationally at offensive tackle. His commitment gives UW another massive presence up front, joining four-star offensive tackle Kodi Greene and four-star edge rusher Derek Colman-Brusa in the class.
Harris received offers from notable programs including Auburn, BYU, Florida State, Maryland, Michigan State, Oregon, South Carolina, Texas Tech, and UCLA.

Both Day and Harris were on official visits to UW over the weekend and have additional visits scheduled, according to 247Sports.
With their commitments, Washington’s 2026 recruiting class now stands at 11 members and is ranked No. 20 nationally by 247Sports.
