BREAKING NEWS: Newcastle Land Deal For Another Highly Rated Talent

Newcastle United has finalized the acquisition of 16-year-old forward from Scottish club Rangers, beating off competition from numerous Premier League clubs for the highly rated Scotland youth international.

The deal was first reported by Fabrizio Romano, who revealed Newcastle had gotten Hutchison’s signature and had reached an agreement.

Alfie Hutchison is the latest addition to Newcastle’s growing youth system, which has seen more potential teenagers join the club than veteran players for the first team.

Hutchison can play as a striker or winger, and he only joined Rangers from Hearts in 2024, but he quickly rose through the ranks of the Ibrox academy, outgrowing the club and finding his new home just a few months after moving to Glasgow.

The teenager made an immediate impact in the Glasgow Cup, scoring twice on his debut against Queen’s Park, and he has also shined on the international scene, scoring against Italy and Portugal for Scotland’s youth teams.

Hutchinson is set to start with Newcastle’s Under-18 group, alongside fellow newcomer Oliver Goodbrand, a left-footed defender who joined from Rangers. Both players are regarded as capable of fast rising through the ranks, with potential paths to the Under-21s.
