BREAKING NEWS: Kansas State Land Another Commitment For Highly-Talented 5-Star Player

A five-star wide receiver/defensive back from Grayson High School in Loganville, Georgia, has joined Kansas State’s 2026 recruiting class. Navies announced his decision on social media, publicly pledging to the Wildcats.
Hannibal Carter Navies, who stands 6’2″ and weighs 195 lbs, was recruited by Arizona State, Arkansas State, and Buffalo before deciding on Kansas State.
His commitment strengthens K-State’s squad by adding depth and versatility, particularly on defense.

He comes from a football lineage—his father played in the NFL after appearing at Colorado—and brings both pedigree and talent to Manhattan, Kansas.

This signing is part of a wave of recruits on Sunday, with prospects like Garrick Dixon and Nick McClellan, indicating Kansas State’s increased momentum in assembling a formidable 2026 class.
Navies is noted not only for his size and agility, but also for his football IQ and positional versatility, as he frequently lines up at wide receiver and safety for Grayson High School. However, Kansas State has primarily recruited him as a defensive back, where his instincts and physicality should translate well in the Big 12.

According to recruiter Allen Trieu, “Navies plays with an edge, has good hips for a bigger DB, and his frame suggests he could even grow into a hybrid safety/linebacker in certain packages.”

Kansas State’s Momentum Builds

Hannibal Carter Navies joins Chris Klieman’s Wildcats as the sixth commitment of the 2026 class, adding to a group that is gaining traction among national experts. The 2026 class already includes highly regarded safety Nick McClellan, quarterback Tyrese Gordon, and offensive lineman Caleb Searcy.

Klieman and defensive coordinator Joe Klanderman have prioritized Georgia as a talent pipeline, and Navies is the latest illustration of their success there. His pledge provides K-State with a crucial defensive building piece for the foreseeable future.

Hannibal Navies Sr., Navies’ father, was a brilliant linebacker at Colorado before playing nearly a decade in the NFL with the Panthers, Packers, and Bengals. His son’s game bears some similarities in terms of toughness and discipline.

In a statement following his pledge, Carter Navies said:

“Kansas State simply felt like home. The coaching staff believes in me, and I am confident that I can develop as a player and person there. I’m prepared to work and bring a championship mindset to Manhattan.”

He intends to enroll early next January and may contend for playing time in the secondary or on special teams as a freshman.
