The Buffalo Bills were already known as Super Bowl contenders before the offseason even began. They made it to the conference championship game despite the lack of a recognized and legitimate No. 1 receiving option in the passing game.
That’s why the Bills made several moves this offseason to address that critical need.
Buffalo searched at a variety of receivers, including Elijah Moore and Laviska Shenault, to help bolster their offense. The Los Angeles Chargers, however, made the big hire.
Joshua Palmer signed a three-year, $36 million contract with the Buffalo Bills at the outset of free agency. Throughout his first few months with the squad, he has proven to be a trustworthy and athletic fit for their scheme.
“He’s (Palmer) been a seamless fit for our room,” said offensive coordinator Joe Brady. “He can play all positions, both inside and outside. It was a wonderful deal for us.”
Palmer had 182 catches for 2,287 yards and 10 touchdowns across four seasons with the Chargers. He has over 500 receiving yards in each of the last three years.

Palmer has been dependable throughout his young career, but he isn’t a top receiver.
But that’s fine with Buffalo at this moment, as they try to strengthen the team as a whole.
The Bills already have strong veterans at receiver, including young Keon Coleman and Khalil Shakir. Palmer can form a strong trio with the other two players on the roster, especially with Josh Allen, the league MVP, throwing him the football.
Over the last two seasons, Buffalo chose not to have an All-Pro wide receiver lead their room. Only time will tell if that technique, combined with Palmer’s arrival, will be successful in boosting Allen and assisting him with a long-awaited Super Bowl visit.
