MLB insider has confirmed a blockbuster trade that could make waves across MLB. The major trade sees Philadelphia Phillies, already a strong contender, making a strong move on top veteran closer. Last season, top star appeared virtually untouchable, but that may no longer be the case.

“The Phillies would land the dominant late-inning arm they need—along with several years of team control—while the A’s would receive a Top 100 pitching prospect who could join Gage Jump and Luis Morales to form a formidable future rotation.”
Although Phillies fans are high on Abel, he may not have a clear path to the starting rotation in the near future, while Miller would immediately fill a major need at the back of Philadelphia’s bullpen.
Still, some believe a straight one-for-one swap might not be fair value. The Phillies might have to part with someone like Andrew Painter instead if they want to land Miller without including multiple prospects.
Even so, the idea of Philly packaging top prospects to acquire Miller makes sense—especially given the current void left by Jose Alvarado’s suspension. The Phillies reportedly pursued Miller at last year’s deadline, but Oakland wasn’t open to talks then.
If the A’s are more willing to entertain offers now, Philadelphia could be the most logical and aggressive suitor.
