JUST IN: Reds Pitcher Brady Singer Sends Passionate Message to Fans After Major MLB Announcement

Gator Boys in the big leagues are on fire, and former Florida Gator right-hander Brady Singer officially joined the party.

Singer made his 22nd start of the season on Friday against the Atlanta Braves and delivered a standout performance. He threw six scoreless innings, allowing only four hits and one walk while striking out 10 batters—his highest strikeout total of the season. The Reds edged out the Braves 3-2 in a tight contest, kicking off August with a strong win.

Before Friday, Singer’s season-high for strikeouts was nine, making this outing his best yet in terms of punchouts. It also marked his first scoreless appearance since March 31.

The 28-year-old Leesburg, Florida native now holds a 9-8 record with a 4.36 ERA, 111 strikeouts, and a 1.31 WHIP on the year.

After the game, Singer spoke to the media and expressed satisfaction with both his performance and the way his pitches felt.

“I think both sliders were pretty good, I had the sweeper going as well, and it was playing well off the sinker too,” said Singer, who added all of his pitches felt excellent. He was thrilled to be able to go out there on Friday and be himself, going deep into the game and giving the Reds a chance.

Singer admitted that prior to Friday, he was pushing too hard, going out there and “trying to do too much,” he added. He stated on Friday that he tried to go out and be himself, which paid off. He concentrated on his instruction and sought to keep his walks to a minimum, which he accomplished by walking only one.

LOOK: Brady Singer Makes Cincinnati Reds History in Debut

Singer’s 2025 season comes with an interesting backstory. After spending his entire career with the Kansas City Royals since being drafted in 2018, he was dealt to the Cincinnati Reds this past offseason. The trade sent former Gator teammate Jonathan India to Kansas City, where India now shares the clubhouse with another Florida alum, Jac Caglianone.
