The New York Giants made a few roster adjustments on Monday afternoon as the team continues preparing for the upcoming season and works to strengthen its depth on both sides of the ball.
The Giants officially announced the signing of linebacker K.J. Cloyd, along with the previously reported addition of running back Jonathan Ward.
This marks Cloyd’s second stint with the team. He was part of the Giants’ roster during last year’s preseason but was released as part of the final roster cuts before the regular season. After that, he landed on the Denver Broncos’ practice squad but has yet to appear in a regular-season NFL game.
Ward’s signing fills an immediate need at running back, with Eric Gray still on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list and rookie Cam Skattebo currently considered day-to-day with an undisclosed issue. Ward, who has previous experience in the league, gives the Giants an extra option in the backfield during this stretch.

To make room for the new additions, the Giants placed linebacker Ty Summers on injured reserve. They also waived running back Rashawn Baker with an injury designation.

With training camp underway and injuries already affecting depth at key positions, these moves aim to keep the roster competitive and flexible heading into the heart of preseason.
