BIG NEWS: Green Bay Receive Major Update On the Future of Head Coach Matt LaFleur With Packers

When Matt LaFleur was hired as the head coach of the Green Bay Packers in 2019, he entered a role filled with uncertainty and the challenges that come with leading a team for the first time.

Now entering his seventh season, LaFleur has firmly established himself among the top head coaches in the NFL.

Matt LaFleur’s Consistent Success

Though a Super Bowl title has eluded him so far, LaFleur has proven he can win with a variety of roster makeups — whether built around veterans or younger players.

In his early years, he led Green Bay to three straight 13-win seasons and multiple appearances in the NFC Championship Game. Those teams were anchored by experienced players like quarterback Aaron Rodgers, tackle David Bakhtiari, wide receiver Davante Adams, and tight end Marcedes Lewis.

More recently, LaFleur has adapted and found success with a younger, less experienced roster. Since the team moved on from Aaron Rodgers in 2023, the Packers have fielded the youngest team in the league for two straight seasons.

Under LaFleur’s guidance, that youth movement hasn’t slowed the team down. Green Bay has made the playoffs in back-to-back years and won a total of 21 games during that span.

Notably, in the last 11 seasons, the only teams labeled the youngest in the NFL to finish with a winning record are these past two Packers squads. The 2023 team, one of the youngest in league history, even came close to reaching the NFC Championship Game.

Green Bay Wants a Super Bowl

With Jordan Love firmly established as the franchise quarterback and the defense making major strides last season, the team appears well-positioned for success.

Despite the challenges of a tough NFC North, the Packers are set up to win plenty of games once again.

Now, it’s up to Matt LaFleur and his staff to deliver a championship to the city known as “Titletown.”

The franchise has managed just one Super Bowl win in nearly three decades—far below its historic expectations.

While LaFleur has proven himself as a consistent winner, the next step is guiding his team past the final hurdle and bringing home a title.
