One of the NFL’s most talked-about couples right now is Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen and actress Hailee Steinfeld. Recently engaged, the duo has been making waves on red carpets, thanks in part to Steinfeld’s lead role in the hit film Sinners. She also made her musical comeback with a track from the movie’s soundtrack, titled “Dangerous,” marking her first new release since 2023.
Speaking to Collider, Steinfeld shared her enthusiasm about returning to music after taking a break to prioritize acting. “It was a tough decision, but I wanted to really give my all to acting,” she said. “That said, music has always been a deep passion of mine and such a meaningful part of my life. Getting to continue creating music is something I’ll never stop being grateful for.”
Alongside her excitement about singing again, Steinfeld is equally thrilled about the movie itself—a 1930s-era vampire film featuring Michael B. Jordan in a dual role as twin brothers. She’s especially proud of how central music is to the film’s story. “Being part of a project like Sinners, where music plays such a powerful role, feels like a dream,” she said. “It allowed me to reconnect with something I’ve truly missed.”

In Sinners, Steinfeld plays Mary, the love interest of Stack (one of Jordan’s characters), who is navigating the emotional aftermath of losing her mother. Steinfeld explained how music was key in helping her tap into Mary’s grief and emotional journey. “Mary will always mourn her mother, but she turns to music for solace,” Steinfeld said. “There’s a scene where she tells Stack, ‘I’m not here for you—I’m here for the blues. I’m here to feel close to my mom again. That’s all that matters right now.’”
As she prepares for her wedding with Allen—lovingly dubbed “the Queen of Buffalo” by Bills Mafia—Steinfeld reflected on the power of music in the film and in life. “For Mary, and for me too, music is home. It’s her sanctuary.”
