Blockbuster: Buffs Flips Another Huge Commitment From Rival Team

Colorado secured a commitment from former Auburn safety through the transfer portal, following his visit during the Buffaloes’ spring game, according to On3 Sports’ Hayes Fawcett.

He has two years of eligibility left, appeared in 22 games over two seasons with the Tigers, contributing mostly on special teams.

In 2023, he logged 68 defensive snaps for Auburn, wrapping up the season with six tackles and a pass breakup. His role diminished in 2024, seeing just 34 snaps and recording one tackle.

Standing at 6-foot-2 and weighing 220 pounds, Love was a consensus four-star prospect from Langston Hughes High School in Atlanta. According to the 247Sports Composite, he was ranked as the No. 34 overall player in Georgia and the No. 32 safety in the 2023 class.

Coming out of high school, Love had an impressive offer list that included programs like Alabama, Florida, Michigan, Notre Dame, Tennessee, and Florida State, among many others.

At Colorado, he’ll join a safety unit featuring Carter Stoutmire and spring game standouts Tawfiq Byard and TJ Branch. Love becomes the fourth transfer to commit to the Buffaloes this spring, joining Illinois State cornerback Teon Parks, Memphis offensive lineman Xavier Hill, and Campbell wide receiver Sincere Brown.
