Blockbuster: King Confirms Huge Deal For Another Top Experienced Playmaker

Although the Sacramento Kings earned a spot in the NBA Play-In Tournament, they were eliminated by the Dallas Mavericks and did not make it to the NBA Playoffs. It marked the second consecutive season in which the Kings failed to build on—or even replicate—their 2022-23 success, when they ended a 16-year playoff drought.

The Kings raised eyebrows with a surprising move, trading De’Aaron Fox to the San Antonio Spurs in exchange for Zach LaVine. The deal reunites LaVine with DeMar DeRozan, his former teammate from their time together in Chicago.

Kings trade target, NBA Champion received a major update Monday

The Kings now face important decisions this offseason. Will they opt to trade some of their high-salary players in exchange for future assets and build for the long term, or will they pursue roster upgrades in an effort to compete and make a playoff push next season?

On Monday, the Kings received a notable update concerning one of their potential trade targets who could make an immediate impact. According to Matt Moore of the Action Network, the Boston Celtics are open to moving point guard Jrue Holiday and are seeking a first-round pick in return.

“Hall of Famer Marc Stein reported this weekend that Boston is indeed entertaining trade offers for Holiday, which many had already speculated,” Stein said. “While much of the attention has been on cutting payroll, sources told the Paroxysm that the Celtics are setting the asking price at a first-round pick, along with a reduced-salary player coming back in the deal.”

While Jrue Holiday could provide a major boost for the Kings at the point guard spot, his performance down the stretch for the Celtics raised some concerns. He was viewed by many as the key to slowing down New York Knicks star Jalen Brunson, but ultimately struggled to contain him during their matchup, falling short of expectations.
