With the recruiting dead period fast approaching at the end of June, Auburn has been staying active, hosting top prospects from across the country. Earlier this week, the Tigers welcomed the No. 1 quarterback in the 2027 recruiting class for his first visit to the Plains.
Elijah Haven, a standout from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, is ranked as the No. 22 overall player and the top QB in his class. He also holds the No. 4 spot among recruits from Louisiana. On Wednesday, he spent several hours touring Auburn’s facilities and meeting with the coaching staff, particularly quarterbacks coach Kent Austin.
During their meeting, the two discussed how Haven’s skill set aligns with Auburn’s offensive system, drawing comparisons to current freshman quarterback Deuce Knight.
“You look at someone like Deuce Knight — our skill sets are very similar in some ways,” Haven told Auburn Rivals. “I think I’d be a great fit in this offense. They talked a lot about how they develop quarterbacks and what sets them apart from other programs. That really stood out to me, because that’s something I pay attention to — how are you developing the QBs that come through here? Deuce is a great example.”

While Haven is in no rush to make a decision, he hopes to commit before the start of his senior year. He also has upcoming visits scheduled with Michigan, LSU, and Alabama before the end of the month.
