BREAKING: Chicago Bulls Confirms Major Trade of Another Top Experienced Star

After finally returning to the court for the Chicago Bulls during the 2024-25 season, Top stars comeback might be short-lived.

According to NBA insider Evan Sidery, the Bulls are expected to explore trade options for veteran star this offseason.

“After signing a two-year, \$20 million extension in February, he is expected to be made available in trade talks by the Bulls,” Sidery posted on X (formerly Twitter). “Ball’s \$10 million annual salary, which includes a team option for 2026-27, is easily digestible for contending teams in need of guard depth.”

his return was a welcome sight after an extended absence due to persistent knee issues, but with Chicago potentially entering a retooling phase, his affordable contract and veteran presence could make him a valuable asset on the trade market.

After missing over two full seasons due to a significant knee injury, Lonzo Ball finally returned to the court in 2024-25 and gave the Bulls a glimpse of what he could still offer.

In his 35 games back in action, Ball averaged 7.6 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game — modest numbers, but a testament to his determination to return after such a long layoff.

However, his time in Chicago may already be nearing its end. With the Bulls reportedly making him available in trade discussions, it appears Ball could be headed for a new team as he looks to continue his comeback elsewhere.

There are still lingering doubts about Lonzo Ball’s long-term durability, but his current contract—both affordable and team-friendly—makes him an intriguing option for teams looking to add backcourt depth without a major financial commitment.

Once considered one of the league’s brightest young point guards, Ball’s career has been repeatedly derailed by injuries. Those setbacks have shifted the perception of his role; he’s now seen more as a savvy, experienced rotational piece rather than a franchise centerpiece.

Still, Ball’s skill set—court vision, perimeter defense, and playmaking—could make him an ideal starter in the right system. For a contender needing a steady hand off the bench or a team looking for a low-risk starting option, he could prove to be a valuable addition.

Chicago stood by him through years of recovery, but as the Bulls shift direction, it’s clear they’re ready to move on.

Ball will almost certainly get another shot in the NBA. The only questions now are: where will that opportunity come, and how big will it be?
