Breaking: Eagles Get Major Update Concerning Nolan Smith Injury

Eagles young star may not be ready for the start of mandatory minicamp, but the Philadelphia Eagles standout feels encouraged by his recovery progress from a torn triceps injury.

As a fellow first-round pick sharing the spotlight with All-Pro Jalen Carter, Smith is sometimes overlooked in Philly’s star-studded lineup. However, following last season’s playoff push, he’s starting to carve out a name for himself.

In just two seasons, Smith has improved his sack numbers significantly and has established himself as a dependable edge rusher. His most impactful performances have come in the postseason—he’s tallied 4.5 sacks in five playoff appearances, ranking third in franchise history and just one sack behind Brandon Graham for the all-time lead.

Smith suffered the triceps tear during Super Bowl LIX. Although he played through the injury in the second half, the recovery has taken months.

After recently completing parts of his offseason workouts, the former Georgia Bulldog opened up about his rehab journey—and his attitude remains upbeat.

“Rehab’s going great,” Smith said. “I’m in a really good place. Still working my arms, still pressing. Hopefully I’ll be back to striking next week. Everything’s aligning. Honestly, if I wasn’t playing in the Super Bowl, this injury wouldn’t have happened—but I see that as a blessing.”

As with any serious injury, the road back takes time. But the Eagles remain confident in Smith’s potential, and with his positive mindset fueling his recovery, he’s trending in the right direction.
