The SEC released its first availability report for the closing week of the regular season, and Auburn’s side contained no unexpected updates. The Tigers confirmed that five players will be unavailable for the Iron Bowl, while one defender, safety Sylvester Smith, will only sit out the opening half after being ejected for targeting in the previous game. Auburn did not list any players in the doubtful, questionable, or probable categories.
Champ Anthony, Connor Lew, Demarcus Riddick, Sam Turner, and Horatio Fields have all been ruled out as they continue recovering from long term injuries.
Fields was the only player whose status carried some uncertainty, since he recently made a limited return to practice after suffering a broken foot back in September. Riddick is the most recent player to be added to Auburn’s season ending injury list. He had shoulder surgery during the team’s bye week, officially ending his freshman campaign.

On the Alabama side, the most significant absence is tight end Josh Cuevas, who did not play in the Crimson Tide’s victory over Eastern Illinois last weekend. Several other players will also be unavailable as Alabama approaches the rivalry matchup, although the Tide do have a few contributors listed as probable.
