BREAKING: New Player Incoming, UW Huskies Land ‘Massive’ Commitment from ‘Player of the Year’ RB

The Running Back’s college football journey has taken a notable turn, bringing him back to his home state while placing him squarely on the opposite sideline of one of the sport’s more intense regional rivalries. After three seasons with the Oregon Ducks, the former four-star recruit and Lake Stevens High School standout has announced his decision to transfer to the Washington Huskies, a move that immediately adds intrigue and experience to UW’s roster heading into the next season.

Jayden Limar revealed his commitment to Washington on social media Monday, confirming that he will return to the Pacific Northwest to continue his career in Seattle. The transition marks a homecoming for the talented running back, who originally starred in Washington before leaving the state to join Oregon. During his time in Eugene, Limar carved out a role in a crowded Ducks backfield while also contributing on special teams, steadily building production over three years.

This past season proved to be his most productive at the collegiate level. Limar rushed for 262 yards and three touchdowns on 46 carries, all of which represented career highs, while averaging an impressive 5.7 yards per attempt. He also showed versatility as a receiver, hauling in 11 passes for 75 yards. His impact extended beyond traditional offensive snaps, as he delivered some timely and memorable plays in high-leverage moments.

One of Limar’s standout contributions came in Oregon’s 51-34 victory over James Madison in the first round of the College Football Playoff, when he returned a blocked punt for a touchdown. He also recorded Oregon’s longest play from scrimmage in a 23-0 quarterfinal win over Texas Tech, pulling in a 27-yard reception. Those flashes highlighted the all-around skill set that made him a coveted recruit coming out of high school.

Across three seasons with the Ducks, the 5-foot-11, 205-pound running back compiled 442 rushing yards and four touchdowns on 4.7 yards per carry. He added 20 receptions for 207 yards and a touchdown through the air, along with two kick returns totaling 53 yards. While he was never the featured back at Oregon, his steady production and situational impact underscored his reliability and experience.

At Washington, Limar steps into a backfield undergoing significant change. The Huskies are set to graduate starter Jonah Coleman and recently lost Adam Mohammed, the expected starter for next season, to the transfer portal. Mohammed committed to Cal last week, creating an immediate opportunity for Limar to compete for meaningful carries and a prominent role.

Before his college career began, Limar was a dominant force at Class 4A powerhouse Lake Stevens. He helped guide the Vikings to their first state championship in 2022, rushing for 2,003 yards and 36 touchdowns as a senior while averaging 8.5 yards per carry. He also added 328 yards and four scores on just 26 receptions. His postseason run was particularly memorable, highlighted by a 185-yard performance in the state title game against Kennedy Catholic just one week after suffering a high-ankle sprain in the semifinals.

Limar’s outstanding senior season earned him The Everett Herald’s All-Area Player of the Year honors in 2022. He wrapped up his high school career with 5,028 yards from scrimmage and 77 total touchdowns, numbers that reflected both consistency and explosiveness.

With Limar now on board, Washington continues to reshape its roster through the transfer portal. As of Tuesday morning, the Huskies had secured commitments from nine transfer portal additions, according to 247Sports, signaling an aggressive approach to reloading talent for the seasons ahead.
