Breaking News: Auburn Lands Huge Commitment For Another Physically Talented Star

Auburn football’s strong cornerback group just got even deeper.

Former Tulane cornerback announced via Instagram that he’s committing to the Tigers. He becomes Auburn’s first defensive back addition from the spring transfer portal window, adding more experience and depth to an already talented secondary.

His commitment comes at a key time for Auburn, helping to bolster the cornerback depth after reserve defensive backs JC Hart and Tyler Scott entered the transfer portal. With starters Jay Crawford and Kayin Lee returning, he is expected to compete for a spot in the rotation alongside players like Raion Strader and early enrollee Blake Woodby.

During his two seasons at Tulane, Pleasant carved out a meaningful role, especially in 2024 when he recorded 35 tackles, three pass breakups, and one interception. He brings experience and playmaking ability to the room, and he’s expected to have two years of eligibility remaining.

Pleasant also brings value on special teams, having proven to be a dangerous returner during the 2024 season. He returned two kickoffs for touchdowns and racked up 449 yards on just 13 returns, giving Auburn a potential weapon in the return game as well.

With Pleasant’s commitment, Auburn has now added four scholarship players from the portal during the spring window. The other three additions have come in the front seven: former Maryland linebacker Caleb Wheatland, along with defensive linemen James Ash and Jay Hardy. Pleasant is the first defensive back to join that group, providing both depth and versatility to Hugh Freeze’s roster.
