Breaking News: Buffs Locks In Another Highly Versatile 5 Star Top Prospect From Transfer Portal

Now that the NFL Draft has wrapped up, Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders appears to be turning his attention back to his own roster. The former NFL standout secured a major addition via the transfer portal — a former five-star recruit who spent last season at Florida State.

Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes officially added Florida State transfer. The wide receiver is expected to have a strong opportunity to step into a starting role right away in Boulder.

Standing at 6-foot-2, he spent the past two seasons buried on Florida State’s depth chart. Now with Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes, he’ll have a fresh chance to emerge as a leading target in the team’s passing attack.

Over his two seasons at Florida State, Hykeem Williams tallied just 21 catches for 267 yards and two touchdowns. Now, he joins a promising group of wide receivers in Colorado, where Deion Sanders has assembled a dynamic unit featuring Omarion Miller, Joseph Williams, Dre’lon Miller, and highly touted freshman Quanell Farrakhan Jr.

Coach Sanders is aiming to build on Colorado’s momentum. After going 4-8 in his first year at the helm, the Buffaloes improved to 9-4 in the 2024-25 season, marking their first bowl appearance since 2020. Despite the progress, they fell short in the Alamo Bowl, losing 36-14 to BYU.

Heading into his third season in Boulder, Sanders faces high expectations—even with star players Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter having declared for the NFL. The Buffaloes are hoping to continue their rise as a competitive force in college football.

Their 2025-26 campaign kicks off with a marquee matchup against Georgia Tech on August 29, setting the tone for what promises to be an intriguing season.
