The Philadelphia Phillies strengthened their roster by reaching a two-year, $22 million agreement with right-hander, according to a source who spoke with The Associated Press.

The source requested anonymity because the contract is contingent on Keller passing a physical examination.
Top star is coming off an excellent season with the Chicago Cubs, where he posted a 4-2 record and a career-best 2.07 ERA across 68 appearances. Over 69 2/3 innings, he recorded 75 strikeouts, showcasing his effectiveness throughout the year.
Although the 30-year-old spent this past season working out of the bullpen, Keller brings significant starting experience, having made 117 starts during his career. His versatility could be important for Philadelphia, especially with Ranger Suárez, a key piece of the rotation this season, set to hit free agency.
Keller’s contract mirrors the two-year, $22 million deal Luke Weaver agreed to with the New York Mets earlier Wednesday, which is also pending a physical.

The Phillies are coming off another strong campaign, capturing the National League East title for the second consecutive season. Their postseason run ended in the Division Series, where they were eliminated by the Los Angeles Dodgers in four games.
The Phillies resolved one of their biggest offseason priorities by bringing back Kyle Schwarber on a five-year, $150 million deal. They also addressed the outfield by agreeing to a one-year, $10 million contract with Adolis García, who is expected to take over in right field.
Several key players remain on the open market, including longtime catcher J.T. Realmuto, pitcher Ranger Suárez, and outfielder Harrison Bader.
Brad Keller, meanwhile, was selected by Arizona in the eighth round of the 2013 amateur draft. He made his major league debut with Kansas City in 2018 and impressed right away, posting a 9-6 record with a 3.08 ERA across 20 starts and 21 relief outings.
Over his career, Keller has compiled a 42-59 record with a 4.14 ERA and five saves in 234 appearances, with time spent not only with the Royals but also with the Boston Red Sox and Chicago White Sox.
